Man dies after being injured in house fire on Thanksgiving 2013

An 86-year-old man injured by a fire at his Jasper home on Thanksgiving morning of last year has died from those  injuries.

Clinton Collins suffered severe burns when his clothes caught fire from a heater in his Jasper home.
By the time paramedics arrived his son had put the fire out and taken off the burned clothes from his father's body.

Collins had undergone weeks of treatment at UTMB Galveston to heal second degree burns to 30 percent of his body.

Funeral services for Collins will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Jasper.
