SWAT Standoff ends with man in custody

NEDERLAND - A man was taken into custody following a three-hour standoff. Nederland Police Chief Darrell Bush has identified the suspect as 31-year-old Gillum Arnold.

Chief Bush says Jefferson County deputies attempted to serve an aggravated robbery felony warrant in the 1100 block of Luling Avenue in Nederland.

Police say the Arnold fled into the attic with a pistol and barricaded himself inside.

Chief Bush says investigators arrived and heard two gunshots fired from inside and attempted to make contact with Arnold, but he did not respond until he asked investigators for help nearly three hours later.
