Crash investigation could lead to roadway changes

HARDIN COUNTY - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

State troopers took measurements and studied the scene to learn more about a wreck that killed Kountze High School students Keiron Edwards, 18, and Savion Smith, 16, Friday evening.

A representative with the Texas Department of Transportation says their crash investigation will be received by the agencys District Safety Review Team to determine whether changes need to be made in that intersection, something many living in Hardin County hope will happen.

For those 5 boys killed in '98, for those killed three weeks later and for any others, something has got to be done, said Cheryl Bean. I mean wrecks are going to happen and we know that but a turning lane makes a big difference.
