Investigators have little doubt concerning identity of person who died in accidental house fire

The Lumberton fire chief tells KFDM News investigators have little doubt the 64-year-old owner of a home that burned is the victim of an accidental fire that destroyed the house Saturday.

Sherilyn Kneeland lived alone at the home. Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to confirm the victim's ID.

A family that lives nearby called emergency operators at about 2:30 Saturday morning after they discovered their neighbor's home on fire.

When firefighters got to the home on Taft near West Walton the entire house was burning and the garage roof had collapsed.

Once they put out the flames firefighters searched the house and found a woman's body.

They believe the fire is accidental but they haven't made a final ruling on the cause.
