Buna woman killed when BPD says man runs stop sign and crashes into car

BEAUMONT - A Buna woman is dead and another person injured following a crash at Long Avenue and 11th Street in Beaumont.

Beaumont police investigators say at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, a man in a Chevy Silverado was speeding down Long Avenue and ran a stop sign.

Investigators say he crashed into a Buna woman driving an Impala south on 11th Street and t-boned her car. The woman died at the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital in police custody.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police say the man may have been intoxicated.
