First federal hearing following BISD indictments
BEAUMONT - Thursday marked the first federal hearing following indictments in the FBI investigation of the Beaumont school district.

BISD Finance Director Devin McCraney and former BISD Comptroller Sharika Allison are in federal court for the first hearing following indictments accusing McCraney and Allison of embezzling more than $4 million dollars from the district.
The pair will appear before Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn and enter pleas.
A grand jury indicted McCraney and Allison on one count of conspiracy and 18 counts of fraud.
KFDM News spoke with Todd Clemons, the attorney for McCraney. Clemons told us that it is a pleasure to represent McCraney and when he is arraigned, the plan is to enter not guilty pleas.
If convicted, McCraney and Allison each face up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
