First local baby of New Year born at Baptist Beaumont at 12:18 a.m.

BEAUMONT - The first local baby born in 2014 was delivered at 12:18 a.m. New Year's day at Baptist Beaumont Hospital. Her big brother is 10 months old.


Mary Poole, Director of Public Affairs and Marketing, told KFDM News Jacelyn Marie Richard is 13 1/2 inches and weighs 3 pounds 7 ounces. She was born prematurely, according to Poole, who says mother and baby are doing very well.


The family lives in Beaumont. Jacelyn has an older brother. He's 10 months old.
