Jury convicts man of injuries that killed girlfriend's daughter
BEAUMONT - A jury has convicted a man of a First Degree Felony charge of Injury to a Child in the death of his girlfriend's daughter.
The jury in Judge John Stevens court convicted Stephen Odom, 32, at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday. The panel began deliberating at about 2:30.
Odom caused injuries that led to the death of Ja'Kyra Henderson. The 3-year-old died in January of 2012.
The jury returns Friday at 10 a.m. for the punishment phase. Odom could face up to life in prison.
