Man in custody after fatal wreck in Port Arthur

A Port Arthur man is in custody and a Groves woman is dead following
an early morning two vehicle accident Sunday.
Port Arthur police say 38 year old Maria Guadalupe Gonzales died at a hospital after the car she was driving was struck from behind around 3am Sunday morning in the 3900 block of Memorial Boulevard.
Police have charged 27 year old Leroy Rideaux, Junior with intoxication manslaughter.
Police said the struck car had two people inside. First responders took both to St. Mary Hospital. Investigators said a man in the passenger seat had non-life threatening injuries and Gonzales was later transferred to Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth in Beaumont where she died from her injuries.
Rideaux was taken to Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth with non-life threatening injuries and is now in custody.
