Police release name of man who died during exchange of gunfire


ORANGE COUNTY - Authorities have released the name of a man who died during an exchange of gunfire with authorities in Orange County.

Morris Ray Bonnette, 64, of Vidor was fatally wounded Tuesday in the 800 block of FM 1131 in Orange County, according to police.

One person is dead after an incident Tuesday evening in the 800 block of FM 1131, Chief Deputy Clint Hodgkinson of the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

U.S. Marshals and the Orange County Sheriff's Department were serving a felony warrant on a suspect, Hodgkinson said.

They came in contact with the person who was getting the warrant and gunfire was exchanged, Hodgkinson said, adding that no officers were injured and that the person is dead.
