Just a few showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the next few days due mainly to daytime heating.  A much better coverage of rain can be expected Thursday into Friday as a cold front moves in from the northwest.  This front will bring us cooler and drier air over the weekend.

Beaumont officer involved in crash

BREAKING NEWS: A Beaumont policeman was involved in a two-car accident. The officer and the other driver were both injured.

It happened at MLK and Florida Avenue in Beaumont, around 2 a.m. Sunday.  Investigators at the scene said an officer was driving south on MLK responding to a fight at the Getaway at 5750 MLK.

A 24-year old driver from Beaumont in a Camaro was driving north on MLK.  The driver of the Camaro attempted to turn left onto Jim Gilligan Way at the intersection.

Investigators say as the patrol unit moved into the intersection, the patrol car and the Camaro collided.

First responders took both the officer and the driver of the Camaro to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigator at the scene told KFDM that the other driver is in stable condition.   Stay with KFDM News for updates.
