Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

Gunmen shoot customer during string of robberies in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- by KHOU 11 News and

Four gunmen shot a customer while holding up three separate food stores late Wednesday, deputies said.

The Harris County Sheriffs Office said the first robbery was reported on Cedar Point Drive near Grant Road around 9:15 p.m.

Four men with bandannas over their faces went into the Lakewood Food Mart and the nearby Country Food Mart, robbing both stores. A male customer, who said he was trying to protect his girlfriend, put up a fight and was shot three times.

The suspects robbed another customer in the store, taking his wallet and keys. The suspects then fled the scene.

Paramedics took the shooting victim to the hospital in serious condition, deputies said.

It's believed the suspects then went to the Stop N Fly Food Mart on Kuykendahl near Cypress Landing and robbed it as well.

A detailed description of the men was not available, but it's believed they got away in a light colored Toyota pickup truck.

A fourth robbery was reported not far away at a gas station on Perry Road, but deputies do not believe the same suspects robbed that store.
