PA city councilman resigns
PORT ARTHUR - A half century old criminal conviction that just came to light has forced a Port Arthur city councilman to resign.
The City Secretary's Office tells KFDM News that Robert Troy resigned Tuesday afternoon. Troy was the councilman in District 4.
According to Mayor Pro Tem Bob Williamson, the District Clerk was archiving old criminal records and discovered Troy's 50 year old criminal conviction. The City Secretary determined the conviction makes Troy ineligible to serve on council.
