The driver was taking the kids to Austin Middle School when the tree fell onto the bus at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at Click Drive and Bordages Lane, near Old Voth Road and south of Tram Road, close to the the Eastex Freeway. The tree in the front yard of a home also crushed a recreational vehicle parked in the driveway. It pulled down a power line but the line didn't land on the bus.

The students are leaving the bus through the rear emergency doors and they'll be transferred to another BISD bus for the ride to school.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the tree to fall onto the bus.
