Woman dies from injuries in Port Arthur accident

PORT ARTHUR- by Haley Bull

Port Arthur Police said a woman involved in an early morning two vehicle accident Sunday has died from her injuries.

Investigators said they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.

First responders got the call to the accident at 3900 Memorial Blvd. in Port Arthur around 3 a.m. Sunday. Police said a Port Arthur man was driving a car north on Memorial Blvd. when he hit another car from behind.

Police said the struck car had two people inside. First responders took both to St. Mary Hospital. Investigators said a man in the passenger seat had non-life threatening injuries and the woman driving was critically injured.

Police said the woman was later taken to Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth in Beaumont where she died from her injuries.

Police said first responders took the driver of the other car to Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
