Officers shoot and kill Vidor man

KFDM News - Investigators say officers with the U.S. Marshal's Service shot and killed a man late Tuesday afternoon while serving a warrant near Vidor after, they say, he fired the first shot.

The man who was shot was  64-year-old Morris Ray Bonnette of Vidor.

Deputies say Bonnette had a weapon when they arrived at the home where he was staying.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies along with officers from the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to serve a felony warrant to Bonnette at a residence in the 800 block of FM 1131 just outside of Vidor.

Deputies say Bonnette had a firearm and shot first during a confrontation. Bonnette was shot to death, but no officers were injured.
