Acting WB Booster Club president says $30,000 repaid
"I can confirm that Mr. Kelley did pay with a cashier's check for 30k today at 2 p.m.," West Brook High School Booster Club's Acting President Joey Hillard said via text message.
Hilliard told KFDM News Monday that the former president of the club admitted to him that he took thousands of dollars from the organization.
In November the club president, Bo Kelley, met with other booster club presidents in Beaumont following questions raised about the Central High School booster club. At that time Kelley said all of the expenditures at West Brook could be verified.
Hilliard said last Friday the treasurer called him and said there was only $500 in the account.
Hilliard said Kelley took $17,000 from the West Brook Booster Club account and another $12,000 from a fundraiser that took place before the football season started.
Hilliard said he immediately called the FBI, the District Attorney's office, the principal at West Brook and a school board member.
