DPS releases name of man killed in auto-pedestrian accident

ORANGE COUNTY - State troopers have released the name of a man who died when he was struck by a car while walking on Interstate 10.

Scott Keisel, 49, of Orange, died in the accident at about 8:30 p.m. Monday at mile marker 858 near the Asher turnaround near Rose City.

Investigators say he was trying to walk across the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, from north to south, when he was struck by a 1987 Chevrolet van. Keisel died at the scene. Justice of the Peace David Peck conduced the inquest. The driver, a 55-year-old Beaumont man, wasn't hurt.
