Part-time BISD officer placed on leave following West Brook incident

WARNING: Footage of the incident may be graphic for some users.

An altercation between two students at West Brook High school on March 7th has led to a BISD police investigation after a student's arm was broken.

In a YouTube video of the incident two students are involved in a fight at the front of the school.

One officer intervenes and a second officer responds moments later.
The video shows the officers struggling with the student to place him in handcuffs.

BISD police chief Clydell Duncan says officer Stephen Rivers has been placed on administrative leave without pay.

He's a part-time officer who has been with the department about a year.

KFDM News spoke with Officer Rivers' attorney, Gordon Friesz, who told us they believe there is more to the story and they are continuing to look into the incident.

No word on whether any charges have been filed against the student.

The altercation remains under investigation.
