Former owner of PA MegaBowl pleads guilty to disaster loan fraud
The former owner of Port Arthur MegaBowl has pleaded guilty to disaster loan fraud.
According to the U.S Attorney's office, 58 year old Kenneth W. Matthews conspired with his general contractor and subcontractor to submit inflated invoices and checks for repair work done to the bowling alley after Hurricane Umberto and Hurricane Ike.
Prosecutors say he received two disaster loans totaling more than $1.5 million. He's agreed to repay $500,000. When sentenced Matthews faces up to five years in federal prison.
