Galveston ferryboats shut down; Marine ship fuel oil spills into the gulf

KFDM News - Galveston ferryboats aren't running Saturday evening due to a collision earlier today in the ship channel.

Marine ship fuel oil spilled into the waterway and crews are working to clean up the spill.

The tank that spilled was holding 168,000 gallons, but it's unclear at this time how much actually spilled into the water.

The collision occurred around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
