Local church building medical pods for third-world country disaster relief

KFDM News - In many cities across the country, finding medical care is relatively easy, but that's not the way it is in most third-world countries.

At St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City, a project by the United Methodist Men and Christian Alliance aim to change that, one medical pod at a time.

These pods have been built to serve communities with a medical need. They have a table, flooring and shelves as well as examination table and dentist chair.

The pods will be sent to an under-developed country during a disaster to help with making health car available.

According to church officials, more than $30,000 went into building the medical pod.

The church will deliver the pod to Houston, where it will be available for use in third-world country disaster relief.
