Port Neches house catches fire

PORT NECHES - Four separate fire departments responded to a house fire around noon on Wednesday in Port Neches.

When fire crews arrived at a home in the 600 block of Neches Oak Boulevard smoke was pouring out of the roof.

Port Neches fire along with assistance from Nederland, Groves and Port Arthur fought the flames for almost two hours. The fire spread quickly.

No one was at home at the time. An alarm system alerted the homeowner and fire department about the fire.

Investigators believe the fire started in the garage.
