A better coverage of showers and thunderstorms will begin tomorrow with the best coverage of rain around Thursday and Friday.  Some locally heavy rains will be possible with gusty winds and frequent lightning strikes in the heavier cells.  Withe more clouds, temperatures will be a little cooler for afternoon highs.

Superintendent addresses TEA preliminary report

BEAUMONT - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

Superintendent of the Beaumont school district, Dr. Timothy Chargois, addressed the Texas Education Agencys preliminary report regarding the districts finances at Mondays Agenda Review meeting.

We're in a position now to be transparent, open with the community, open with the agency and have a path forward. Our job is to protect our resources and educate our children, said Dr. Chargois.

The superintendent says the district enacted a plan last November, and he has been presenting it to the Board at various meetings.

He says the district was already aware of financial issues before the preliminary report and has been working to fix them.
