Four people arrested in connection with Maddox case

UPDATE: Bonds have been set at $1 million for each of the four people arrested in connection to the murders of Nathan and Krystal Maddox.

UPDATE: Paul Westfall, Letha Westfall, Kristen Westfall, and Cameron Westfall -- who were indicted earlier Tuesday -- are currently in custody, according to the Tyler County Sheriff's Office. They were taken to the Tyler County Jail.

A Tyler County grand jury has indicted 34-year-old Nathan "Brad" Maddox's ex-mother-law and three others in connection with his death and the death of his his 30-year-old wife Krystal Maddox.

A grand jury has indicted Paul Westfall, Letha Westfall, Kristen Westfall, and Cameron Westfall for engaging in organized criminal activities, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.

Letha Westfall had previously been named a suspect in the murders of her ex-son-in-law and his wife by Sheriff Weatherford at the end of February. Letha Westfall is the maternal grandmother of Nathan Maddox's daughter.

The couple was shot and killed January 18th while leaving Mount Carmel Baptist Church near Colmesneil following a court ordered child custody visit with Nathan Maddox's 5-year-old daughter.

Weatherford said in a previous interview with KFDM that Letha Westfall, a caseworker and the child were inside the church during the shootings.

An attorney who represented Nathan Maddox in the child custody case, Ryan Deaton, had told KFDM News the visit would likely have been the last supervised visit. Deaton expected Nathan Maddox to get full custody of his daughter from the maternal grandparents not long after the visit. CPS gained custody following the shootings.

The five year old is Nathan's only child. His wife Krystal had four children. Jim Maddox, Nathan's father, said in a previous interview with KFDM, that the couple had married a little more than a year ago.
