Day 1 of testimony in PA teacher trial
Testimony took up much of the day in the trial of Port Arthur teacher Ruby Gunner. She is accused of pushing, hitting and choking a student last April. At the the time Gunner maintained her actions were in self-defense.
Jurors heard from the student claiming the assault, the teacher whose classroom became the site of the second confrontation and other administrators.
The most dramatic testimony came from that teacher, Trudy Goza.
She said: "Gunner went right up straight to him and wrestling him and desks started flying."
She said she didn't hear any words exchange between the two before that.
She did say the two were pushing each other and at one point saw Gunner on top of the student. She testified she could hear the student gasping that Gunner was killing him.
