Jury reaches a verdict in PA teacher trial

UPDATE: The jury finds Ruby Gunner not guilty of injury to a child.

The first words out of Ruby Gunner's mouth after the verdict was read were: "God is good."

After a day of testimony the state and the defense have rested in the trial of Port Arthur teacher Ruby Gunner.

Gunner is accused of pushing, hitting and choking her then 11-year old student last April at Lee Elementary School in Port Arthur.

Jurors heard testimony from the student accusing Gunner of the assault, a teacher who said she saw Gunner and the student fighting and an administrator who walked in the room as the confrontation ended.

If convicted, Gunner could face up to 10 years in prison.
