A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. A warming trend will begin early next week with a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms by the middle and later part of next week.
BPD arrests suspects in AT&T armed robbery
BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police have arrested two suspects, including an employee, accused of robbing the new AT&T store.
At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, Beaumont Police served arrest warrants on two suspects in the February 17 robbery of the AT&T Mobility store on Dowlen Road near the Eastex Freeway.
Search warrants were executed at locations in Beaumont and Groves that were related to the case. Two suspects, Jamail Ahmad Wallace, 21, of Beaumont, and Latashi Loraine Henry, 33, of Groves, were arrested. Police tell us Henry worked at the store.
Both suspects have been transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked for the Aggravated Robbery of the AT&T Mobility store.
Police say on Monday, February 17 at 8:27 a.m., a black male suspect with his face painted pale green, slender, 5'7- 5'8, wearing a gray hoodie with black writing on the front, black slacks, black leather dress shoes, red headphones, black leather gloves and a silver Adidas draw string back pack, approached the clerk as she was entering the store and put his hand over her mouth. The suspect had a black automatic pistol in his right hand.
The suspect walked the clerk to the back room, where other employees had locked themselves in. He demanded that they open the door or he would kill the clerk. After entering the room he picked up a deposit off the table. He then told the manager to open the safe and waited for the safe to open. After getting the money from the safe he left out the back door in an unknown direction.
