Ice contributes to outages, school cancelations

Ice on power lines contributed to about 14,000 outages in the area.

Entergy is reporting the hardest hit locations are Silsbee, Woodville, Conroe, New Caney, and Cleveland.

In the region to the west of the Trinity River some may not have power restored until late Tuesday night.

In Buna icy conditions and a lack of power forced the school district to cancel classes.

KFDM News found very few people on the roads Tuesday in the Buna area. Ice covered trees and bushes.

Despite the dangerous conditions there are no reports of serious injuries from any of the traffic accidents in the region.
