Video to help Hamshire-Fannett elementary sent to Ellen Show host

FANNETT -  A former Hamshire-Fannett student --  who's currently at Texas A&M -- is asking talk show host Ellen Degeneres for help in rebuilding the elementary school that was heavily damaged by a fire.

Tayler Hatcher says she made a video to send to the Ellen Show host after seeing a post on Degeneres' website about her helping schools that have a need.

Hatcher created a Facebook event and says nearly 100 people from neighboring school districts have shown their support.

Hatcher says there were hundreds of shares and messages on Facebook, supporting Hamshire-Fannett Elementary School.

She says even if nothing happens on the Ellen Show, the effort will boost the school's spirit.
