Sour Lake cracks down on synthetic marijuana
SOUR LAKE - The city of Sour Lake has taken a step to make it harder for businesses to sell synthetic marijuana.
The city council has approved new rules that expand the list of chemicals that fall under a ban.
Law enforcement officers tell KFDM News that people who sell K2 and other forms of synthetic marijuana often change the chemicals they use in the process in an effort to outwit authorities.
By expanding the number of chemicals banned as part of synthetic marijuana, Sour Lake hopes to stay ahead of people selling the substances.
Many local law enforcement officers say they hope the Texas Legislature also expands the list of chemicals that are banned as part of the effort to crack down on the sale of synthetic marijuana.
