BISD superintendent, board president meet with members of a law firm

BEAUMONT - A Beaumont school board member tells KFDM News that he wishes he had known about a meeting last week in which the school board president and the superintendent met with members of a law firm.

BISD board member Mike Neil says although the meeting was legal, he wishes other members had been told about it beforehand so they could submit questions, if they desired.

One day after the April 17 meeting, the board voted to hire the Tritico Law Firm to fight the state takeover of the district.

The picture and video seen with this story were obtained by Jerry Jordan of SETX Investigates.

It shows the board president, Gwen Ambres, the superintendent and others meeting at the Carrol Thomas stadium with members of the firm.
