Kountze man pleads guilty to using government money to pay wife's credit card

KFDM News - A Kountze man has pleaded guilty to stealing government money to pay his wife's credit card.

Investigators say when Tony Lynn Thornton, Sr., was the executive director of the Hardin County Disaster Recovery Alliance, he took the money to make the credit card payment.
The Hardin County Disaster Recovery Alliance dispersed money for victims of Hurricane Rita.  

Thornton faces up to one year in federal prison, a fine not to exceed a $100,000 and restitution.

A date for sentencing hasn't been set.
