Tyvone Washington remembered with Easter egg hunt

PORT ARTHUR - Students at a Port Arthur school remembered a young classmate and friend on Good Friday with an Easter egg hunt.

Ten-year-old Tyvone Washington died March 29. Police say he and a group of friends were at Central Mall. Later, Tyvone tried to cross Highway 69 and was struck by a car.

The fourth grader attended Booker T. Washington Elementary in Port Arthur. On Friday, classmates dedicated their Easter egg hunt to his memory.

A number of companies helped sponsor the event. Friends and teachers say Tyvone loved playing outside, and they know that he would have enjoyed the Easter egg hunt.
