SMG says Ford Park ranks in world's top 100 venues for ticket sales this year

Ford Park/SMG is proud to announce that in its upcoming 1Q recap issue, Pollstar, the trade publication for the concert tour industry, ranks Ford Park in the Top 100 Arena Venues for 2014 First Quarter Worldwide Ticket Sales. Information is provided to Pollstar by agents, managers and promoters who produce concerts and other entertainment.

"The Pollstar ranking as one of the top ticket-selling venues in the world solidifies our position as the entertainment venue of choice for Southeast Texas ticket buyers," says John Hughes, General Manager of the SMG-managed facility. "Southeast Texans have proven that Beaumont is a market not to be ignored."

Kicking off the first quarter with a performance by Switchfoot at the Hot Hearts Conference on January 31 and ending with a sold out Elton John concert on March 12, the Ford Park calendar was filled with a variety of events including the Harlem Globetrotters, Foreigner, Gala of the Royal Horses, 3 days of Monster Trucks, 5 performances of Sesame Street and 7 performances of Cirque du Soleil - Varekai. Four of the tours that came to Ford Park ranked in Pollstar's Top 50 in highest grossing tours worldwide in the first quarter: Harlem Globetrotters, Elton John, Cirque du Soleil - Varekai and Sesame Street.
