A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. A warming trend will begin early next week with a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms by the middle and later part of next week.
Gov. Perry makes local judicial appointment
KFDM News - Gov. Rick Perry appointed Tom Rugg as judge of the 58th District Court in Jefferson County.
Rugg, a Republican, is a candidate running against Democrat Kent Walston in the November election.
Rugg has served previously as a judge and spent many years in the district attorney's office.
He was acting district attorney after longtime District Attorney Tom Maness retired.
The court seat opened when Bob Wortham stepped down to run for district attorney. Worthan is running as a Democrat and will face Republican Perry Thomas in November.
