Benefit held for family of sisters killed in Lumberton crash
A benefit wrapped up Friday night for the family of two Lumberton sisters killed in a collision back in February.
Connely Burns, 20, and her sister 15 year old Courtney Sterling died in a crash February 3rd.
When a car slammed into the back of the family's SUV at speeds around 120 miles per hour near the intersection of Highway 96 and 69 in Lumberton Connely was pregnant with a son was due this month.
Their mother was also critically injured and spent more than a month in the hospital.
Friday's event was held at Lumberton High School and was organized by the Lumberton High School key club.
Students prepared and sold BBQ dinners and local musicians Jimmy Kaiser and Bruce Shaver provided the entertainment.
