Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

Suspect in fatal stabbing arraigned and charged

A Beaumont man was stabbed to death Monday evening and Tuesday a suspect was arraigned and charged with murder. 

Samuel Thomas the IV, 34 years old, was arraigned Tuesday and his bond was set at $1 million dollars. He is in the Jefferson County Jail.

Thomas was also on probation for a prior assault on a police officer.That probation was revoked Tuesday as well.

Beaumont police responded to a report of a body found in the back yard of a house around 6:45 p.m. Monday in the 5400 block of Sunbury.

When officers arrived, they found 59-year-old John Neff dead and had what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. 

According to police, occupants of the house told them a family member, Samuel Thomas the IV told them that he had stabbed Neff.

After searching for several hours, police found Thomas.
