A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. Suspect in fatal stabbing arraigned and charged
A Beaumont man was stabbed to death Monday evening and Tuesday a suspect was arraigned and charged with murder.
Samuel Thomas the IV, 34 years old, was arraigned Tuesday and his bond was set at $1 million dollars. He is in the Jefferson County Jail.
Thomas was also on probation for a prior assault on a police officer.That probation was revoked Tuesday as well.
Beaumont police responded to a report of a body found in the back yard of a house around 6:45 p.m. Monday in the 5400 block of Sunbury.
When officers arrived, they found 59-year-old John Neff dead and had what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.
According to police, occupants of the house told them a family member, Samuel Thomas the IV told them that he had stabbed Neff.
After searching for several hours, police found Thomas.
