PA man pleads guilty to the murder of his aunt

A Port Arthur man faces life in prison after he pleaded guilty Tuesday to the murder of his own aunt.

Lawrence James Junior, 44, admitted he stabbed 70-year-old Bettye Davis in March 2012.

Lawrence admitted to being high on cocaine when he killed his aunt in her Port Arthur home after the two argued over money, According to court documents.
After stabbing her multiple times, Lawrence left Davis still breathing on her kitchen floor and drove her car to Houston where police arrested him for possession of a controlled substance.

Family members discovered Davis's body days later.
Lawrence James Junior could receive anywhere from 15 to 99 years in jail when he is sentenced on June 2nd.
