BISD not allowed to pay former Ozen football coach for at least another week

BEAUMONT - The Beaumont school district will not be allowed to pay former Ozen football coach Keeath Magee for at least another week.

Magee has already missed one payment and attorneys for the district say he's threatening to sue for breach of contract.

Attorney Mike Getz filed the temporary restraining order on behalf of taxpayer Melinda Harper.

The two claim the district is paying Magee without following the proper procedures.

In court today, the Houston attorney representing the district says they would like Magee to be present for the hearing since he has a stake in what takes place.

Getz says, in the meantime, they want the judge to keep the restraining order in place to prevent the district from paying Magee.
