One man killed in fatal accident

State troopers are trying to learn why a driver who was towing a small fishing boat veered into an oncoming lane and crashed head-on into a truck carrying waste.

The impact killed 28-year-old Cuong Nguyen of Beaumont. He was a passenger in the Toyota pickup that crossed into the other lane of west Port Arthur Road at south Garden Road early Monday morning.
Troopers say Nguyen did not have on a seat belt and he was thrown from the pickup.

Nguyen's brother was the driver. His injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the Triangle Waste Solutions truck was also hurt. Investigators say his injuries are not life threatening.
