Port Arthur man taken into custody in connection with burglary of habitation

A 29-year-old Port Arthur man was taken into custody and booked on a charge of burglary of a habitation Wednesday in the 600 block of 48th Street, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.

After officers responded they were advised by the 30-year-old resident at that address that her ex-boyfriend, a 29-year-old Port Arthur resident, forced entry into the residence and assaulted her, the news release stated.

At the time that officers arrived the suspect had fled the residence, although he was located in the vicinity and taken into custody, PA police stated.

The man was transported to the JCSO Jail.
