Jasper woman re-indicted on lesser charge of murder in death of her toddler daughter
JASPER COUNTY - A Jasper woman, who was previously under indictment for capital murder in the 2012 death of her 19-month-old daughter, has now been re-indicted by the Jasper County grand jury on a lesser charge of murder.
This story comes to us through our media partnership with KJAS/Rayburn Broadcasting in Jasper.
On Wednesday, grand jurors handed up a murder indictment against 42-year-old Angel Lee Bryan, who is accused of causing the death of Patience Bryan.
Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman says the incident occurred on September 24, 2012 at a home on Farm to Market Road 2799. Newman said doctors at Texas Children's Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston told him that the toddler died from head trauma and a fractured skull.
At the time, Newman also pointed out that the child weighed only 17 pounds.
