Police believe man arrested was carrying meth
PRESS RELEASE FROM PINEHURST POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 Officer Leonard Roff of the Pinehurst Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Strickland Drive.
Upon obtaining consent to search the vehicle, Officer Roff located a small metal tin that contained two clear, plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance that he believed to be methamphetamine.
The driver, a 31 year old white male identified as Randy Reed of Spurger, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was transported to the Orange County Jail where he was later released after posting a $1500.00 bond.
The offense is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to 2 years in a state jail and a $10,000 fine.
