Clean up underway for oil spill at Motiva in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR - Clean-up is underway at the Motiva refinery in Port Arthur where nearly 3,000 barrels of lube oil spilled Wednesday.

According to a company spokesperson, refinery workers isolated and contained the spill in a storm drain.

Workers are now using absorbent booms and vacuum trucks to clean up the rest of the oil.

The company says there shouldn't be any environmental impact from the spill. However, the company is required to take soil samples and send those samples to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
