Homeowner escapes structure fire unharmed

KFDM News learned that Beaumont firefighters responded to a structure fire shortly after 11:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of Falcon Lane.

The homeowner was able to escape without injury. He was home at the time of the fire and is expected to be all right.

When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the roof vents and when they entered the house they found fire in the attic.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and kept the damage confined to a small area of the attic.

The fire appeared to have been caused by the central heat and air conditioning unit, according to authorities.
