A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. A warming trend will begin early next week with a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms by the middle and later part of next week.
Southeast Texans celebrate Memorial Day and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice
SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Southeast Texans are paying tribute to servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
A number of events took place, including annual Memorial Day ceremonies at Forest Lawn in Beaumont and Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.During the annual memorial day celebration at Oak Bluff Memorial park veterans stood at attention and saluted the American flag while several hundred people paid their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Precinct two commissioner Brent Weaver was the guest speaker. He served in the marines. He reminded everyone gathered there are men and women walking in harms way to protect the freedom we have.
Meanwhile, the doors to a war museum in Beaumont closed and if you didn't get to visit you'll have to wait awhile.
The Temple to the Brave is open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, July 4th, and a couple of other patriotic holidays. It honors veterans of all wars.
