Man sentenced to 60 years in connection with 2011 murder

JEFFERSON COUNTY - A man has been sentenced in connection with an August, 2011 Port Arthur murder.

KFDM News learned that Joshua Thomas was sentenced to 60 years.

The District Attorney's Office says according to offense reports, on August 6, 2011, Thomas shot Michael Walker at a home on 12th Street in Port Arthur. Prosecutors say Walker had assaulted Thomas' aunt, and Thomas had gone to the residence to retaliate.  According to investigators, Walker and Thomas' aunt were in a relationship.
