New information about suspect and victim of purse-snatching

ORANGE - Police in Orange are charging Eyeshea Brown, 28, with aggravated robbery and evading detention with a vehicle after investigators say she tried to take a woman's purse and the victim held on and was dragged a short distance down a street.

Lauren Huet is investigating. She'll have new details and reaction on KFDM News at 6.

Tiffany Marie Trahan, 32, suffered head injuries and was taken to Christus Hospital St. Mary.

Police caught Brown after a short chase. They say a police officer witnessed what he thought was an auto-pedestrian accident at about noon near 10th and Polk in Orange and saw the driver flee. He and other officers chased the driver on several streets and caught her.

Investigators say Trahan was walking down the street and Brown pulled up to talk with her before trying to steal her purse. Police say Trahan held on and was dragged several feet before Brown got away.
