Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

Remembering George Hudspeth

BEAUMONT - The community is mourning the death of a prominent Beaumont civic leader who left a lasting impression in business, education and many other areas.

George Hudspeth was the first African-American on the South Park ISD board as well as the first African-American New York Liberty Insurance agent, according to a  news release from Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held this Saturday, May 10 at 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a home-going celebration starting at 10:30 a.m.

The church is asking the community to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.  

George Hudspeth was 81.
